Coke® Addict

This project began with the collection of various Coke products in both my neighborhood and surrounding areas. Finding Coke products was not difficult, but rather easy, which ultimately served as a basis and piece of commentary of what I would soon create.

Each Coke product was meticulously cut and displayed along multiple threaded rods. These rods function as a structural framework, an industrial skeleton that grows upwards with every coke product, representing the industrial corporations that thrive off of mass consumer culture.

The white paint is but a purposeful act of concealing what is involved in the consumption of single-use objects. We have a way of painting over the remnants, allowing this sculpture to criticize the widespread ignorance of individuals actions, a denial that perpetuates the cycle of relentless consumption and upward industrial growth.
