Swinging in Ruin

Cardboard structures and houses were constructed, painted, and adorned with various objects to evoke a sense of decay and abandonment. The houses together create a desolate townscape, suggesting a once-thriving community now depicted in ruin. Amist the desolation, the focus is drawn to the center of the sculpture, a single figure swinging on a tire swing.

The juxtaposition between the figure and the muted backdrop emphasizes the resilience of humans, further emphasized by playful swinging in a very solemn world.
